Persistent rain made for a very wet Sunday afternoon at Nutts Corner Raceway, with challenging conditions facing competitors throughout the meeting. Despite the weather, seven formulas took to the track, with some impressive performances as drivers adapted to the slippery surface.
BriSCA F2 Stock Cars
Aidan McFerran (467) was the driver to beat in the BriSCA F2 Stock Cars, beginning his afternoon with victory in Heat One. Daniel Stewart (991) followed him home in second, with Craig McConnell (925) completing the top three ahead of Ryan McCrory (940).
McFerran was back at the front in Heat Two, this time leading Craig Bodenham (48) and McConnell across the line. Ronald Scott (10) finished fourth with McCrory fifth.
The Final completed a clean sweep for McFerran, his third victory of the afternoon. Scott produced his best result of the meeting to take second, with McCrory third. Declan Og McFerran (517) and Stewart rounded out the top five.
Saloon Stock Cars
Adam White (941) opened the Saloon Stock Car programme with victory in Heat One. Ryan Patton (170) finished second ahead of Jonathan Brown (688), Jonny Patterson (127) and Ryan Wright (153).
Robert Mawhinney (951) took his turn at the front in Heat Two, beating White into second place. Wright improved to third, followed by Patton and Matthew Stirling (747).
Stirling saved his best result for the Final, coming through to take the victory. Wright completed a strong afternoon with second place, while White was third after featuring at the sharp end throughout the meeting. Anthony McIvor (711) finished fourth and Geoff Martin (181) fifth.
1400 Saloon Stock Cars
Fionn Donnelly (946) was victorious in the opening 1400 Saloon Stock Car heat, with Joshua McKinistry (515) second and Matthew Weir (262) third. Curtis McConkey (982) and car 971 completed the top five.
Car 948 won Heat Two ahead of car 93, with McConkey third and Donnelly fourth.
The Final brought another change at the front as car 911 took the victory. Gary Freeburn (936) finished runner-up, with McKinistry third. Donnelly followed in fourth and McConkey completed the top five.
ORCi Stock Rods
Car 918 took the opening Stock Rod heat, leading Kyle Houston (148) and Cole McFall (911) home. Shane McKinney (62) was fourth ahead of Jason Morrison (23).
Jack Kennedy (314) came through to win Heat Two, with car 918 taking second and Samuel Montgomery (16) third. Samuel McKinstry (115) and Jordan McClurkin (120) completed the top five.
Morrison then mastered the wet conditions to take victory in the Final. Houston finished second with McFall third, while McKinstry and McClurkin rounded out the top five.
Junior Rods
Riley Dawson-Stirling (74) took the opening Junior Rod heat, with car 675 second and Christopher Kernohan (621) third. Christian Murray (926) and Nathan Cregan (946) completed the top five.
Kernohan reversed the order at the front in Heat Two, taking victory ahead of Dawson-Stirling. Codi Wilson (975) finished third, followed by Cregan and Murray.
Dawson-Stirling returned to winning ways in the Final, completing a heat and final double. Cregan took second, Jamie Scott (26) third and Sam Preston (28) fourth, with Murray fifth.
Micro F2
Kurtis Peoples (733) was in commanding form in the Micro F2s, winning the opening heat ahead of Tommy McAvoy (89), Mason Mairs (218) and Sid Shaw (134).
Peoples made it two from two in Heat Two, with Robbie Graham (99) second and Erin Anderson (154) third.
The Final completed a perfect afternoon for Peoples, who took his third victory of the meeting. Shaw finished runner-up with Graham third, McAvoy fourth and Mairs fifth.
GP2 Lightning Rods
Ryan Addis (908) started the GP2 Lightning Rod programme with victory in Heat One. Aaron Fulton (44) was second, Robbie Brown (74) third and Jordan Nicholl (6) fourth, with Jonny Kerr (642) completing the top five.
Joe Black (69) came through to win Heat Two ahead of Addis and Nigel Kernohan (72). Lewis Peoples (777) finished fourth with Nicholl fifth.
Fulton then claimed the Final, leading Brown and Peoples across the line. Nicholl took fourth and Steven Elder (96) completed the top five.
